One Punch Man's strength; Just finished watching it

So I just finished watching One Punch Man and I must say I really enjoyed it. It definitely reminds me of Dragon Ball where Goku would defeat everyone in his way only that here Saitama has no trouble at all. Which makes me wonder how strong do you think he is anyway? And some of the other heroes seem to have really great power like Amai Mask, that green telekinetik girl called Tornado or even Metal Knight. But for now I'm only curious how strong do you think Saitama is...

As in physical strength or just how hard he punches? Cause those fists seem to be as powerful as the writer makes them out to be.

Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?!

Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power.

He is infinitely powerful, which is the joke. He'll always be able to beat any opponent no matter what, otherwise the series would lose its purpose.

He's strong. Not infinite imo but he's strong. Physically stronger than any dbz(not super) and GT character

His battle with Boros implied his strength had limits. It might be that it's truly toon-force-beat-all, but probably best to wait for the series to show more evidence of that before coming to the conclusion.

How did it?

If anything it only implied the he limits his power, which obviously he does anyway since he's punched a few people without aiming to kill them.

Boros said "I sense to limit to his energy/power" that's about all we get on that front, of course Boros is unlikely the ultimate judge. If it keeps going he'll probably be a laughing stock power wise.

Saitama said he needed to put in a little effort in his Serious Series punches. That's all you need to know for a fact that he's not limitless and he just holds back a lot

If he were limitless he wouldn't have needed to put in any effort to punch away a blast that was questionably planet busting

In his world, Saitama is pretty strong. He's not as strong as people make him out to be though. Even the top tiers of Naruto would most likely defeat him.

But that doesn't mean he's not limitless that just means he limits himself. He wasn't trying his hardest or anything he was just actually trying to kill Boros with that last punch and he did.

Before he might as well have been playing with an infant sibling.

He'd given Boros his chance and it was clear he was no match so he decided to actually beat him and get it over with.

If he were limitless though he wouldn't have had to put in a considerable amount of effort. If he has to put in .1%(it was probably a bit more but just for the sake of argument) to deflect a blast like that, he can't deflect a blast capable of destroying the universe

Why even mention that he had to get serious at all and bust out a trump card for a planet(?) busting blast if he's limitless?

Boros' attack isn't even close to planet level. It's like continental level.

Saitama is a joke character. We shouldn't take too seriously how powerful he is, it's the same deal with Arale.

You're misinterpreting where he meant by serious though.

Not serious like "I'll do my best!" serious like "Fine, I'll actually try"

He was fed up, disappointed he couldn't find someone to challenge him and took him out. Up until then he wasn't trying to kill Boros but once he knew the guy had nothing left he decided to get serious and win.

How? Like it or not within her own series she's damn powerful. It might be for laughs but she can still do it. Like how characters such as Bugs Bunny can basically reality warp.
He's hardly a joke character, more of a spoof but that doesn't mean his power isn't real(in fiction land)

The moment he decided to get serious at all in order to deflect a blast that weak > who it < clear he wasn't limitless
